The Centre for Better Society Advocacy and Research Africa (CEBSARAFRICA) had called for right thinking and mindsets transformation among the citizens to be able to create a better society fair and just for the people in Ghana and Africa at large. This call was made during a community durbar in Ejura in the Ashanti region of Ghana. CEBSARAFRICA exists to conscientise the younger generation to develop right mindsets towards building a better society in Africa. They believe that corruption is the greatest canker facing the citizens in Africa and for this canker to be rooted out and tackled, honesty, integrity, equity and putting love for humanity in all our dealings are key ingredients towards solving this problem.
On the 9th August 2019, CEBSARAFRICA as part of their community outreach held a community durbar in collaboration with CECIYAA Foundation and Rural Smile Foundation at Ejura Community Library. The durbar was on the theme: Building a Better Society in Ghana, It Is Our Responsibility. Our Ashanti Regional Representative of CEBSARAFRICA, Mr. Isaac Owusu Afriyie, who also doubles as a chemistry tutor in St. Louis Girls Senior High School in Kumasi, donated five of his authored chemistry books to the Community Library and promised to later supply them with additional ten copies. During his speech, he indicated the need for the community to take advantage of resources available in the community library to enhance learning and for parents and stakeholders to make donations in ways possible to help build the society.
“There is the need to take advantage of the resources available in the community Library to enhance learning. There is the need for parents and all stakeholders to come on board to support in no small ways possible of making little donations that can positively affect the societies we find ourselves”, Mr. Isaac Owusu Afriyie said.
During her speech, our PRO, Ms. Ama Asabea Asenso Onyinah also called for right thinking and mindsets transformation of the citizens. She indicated that these are key ingredients needed to help build a better society in our communities. She spoke about how the culture of reading could positively translate into the right mindset, right thinking, and open mindedness of citizens. She added that there is the need for societies to come together, and come on board to join the arsenal for a better society for all. It is our own responsibility to build that better society we seek, and building a better society begins with us individuals.
